Keith McFarland
Senior Advisor

Keith McFarland has more than twenty years experience as a consultant, author, chief executive officer and university dean. He is the founder of McFarland Strategy Partners, a strategy facilitation and performance management firm that advises growth companies as well as industry leaders such as the House of Blues, Motorola and Morgan Stanley. Mr. McFarland the author of The Breakthrough Company: How Everyday Companies Become Extraordinary Performers (Random House/Crown), a Wall Street Journal and New York Times best seller. He also is a regular columnist for BusinessWeek magazine and is a frequent speaker for executive groups.

Mr. McFarland formerly was President and CEO of Nivo International, the exclusive provider of Microsoft certification services for MS Office through 2000 testing centers in 56 countries. Previously, he served as chairman and later as CEO of Collectech Systems Inc., a leading contact/receivables company servicing such firms as Verizon, AT&T and DirectTV. In this position Mr. McFarland grew sales from $10 million to $150 million and successfully led the sale of the company to Harvest Partners and GE Capital. Earlier Mr. McFarland spent 12 years consulting for a variety of industries including information technology, financial services, aerospace, training and education, and healthcare. He began his career at Pepperdine University and served in a variety of positions at the university including being appointed associate dean of the business school at the age of twenty-six.

Mr. McFarland holds a B.S. from Pepperdine University and a M.B.A. from the Graziadio School of Business and Management at Pepperdine University. He studied with management theorist Peter Drucker at Claremont University where he completed the coursework and qualifying exams for a doctorate degree.
